THE POWER OF SHE
This holiday season, we ignite
a chain of positivity by sharing
stories of gratitude.
Practicing gratitude helps us all put some positivity back into the world. So this holiday season, join our Gratitude Challenge: Take on one — or better yet, all seven — of the challenges here. Snap a photo that brings your action to life and share it using #GratefulFor.
Give someone a happy blast from the past. Pick up the phone and connect with someone you haven’t talked to in a while. Even 5 minutes can make a lasting impression and possibly rekindle a cherished friendship. Better yet, plan an activity and make new memories!
Start your day on a positive note as you focus on the things you’re grateful for over your morning coffee or tea. It could be as simple as the warmth of the mug in your hands.
Cold weather doesn’t limit activities, it opens up a whole new world. Write down everything you’d like to do while temps are low: hit the slopes, take a sleigh ride with a group, pause to build a snowman with your kids.
The smallest gesture can have a great effect. Look for little ways to bring a smile to someone’s face. Buy a coffee for the person behind you. Help carry someone’s groceries. Slip a few quarters into an expired meter.
Ask a friend to meet up for a workout. Having someone by your side to push and encourage you is definitely something to be grateful for! Cool down with a few minutes of meditation to reflect on your buddy workout.
Who doesn’t love a little praise? Tell a friend how awesome she is. Post a note of appreciation on a Facebook page. Give extra thanks to the barista who always makes a perfect latte.
Don’t let an important “thank you” go unsaid. Think of someone who’s changed your life for the better, and write them a note. Mail it, or if they’re close, schedule a visit to drop off the letter in person.
Did you know practicing gratitude can have a powerful effect on your wellbeing? It’s true. These #GratefulFor stories range from epic to emotional to irreverent, but they all show how our health, happiness and relationships can be impacted by simple acts of gratitude.
Follow along this holiday season as we share the power of gratitude — and how you can be a part of this movement. It’s the real Power of She.
let’s face it,
There’s something liberating about realizing there are much bigger things than ourselves in this world.
Because Mother Nature has the best soundtrack.
We spend more time connecting to our devices than to the world that surrounds us. Don’t forget to take a look around, take it all in and even see where the moment takes you.
Because the view
at the top is always
worth the climb.
MY INNER COMPASS
Follow your instincts and trust that inner voice. You’ll be surprised by what you can do when you open yourself up to the possibilities.
comes from within.
Life has a way of knocking us around sometimes. So put on your gloves and show ‘em what you’ve got. The more you step up and throw a few of your own punches, the stronger you’ll be for every round.
Because there’s more
to each of us
than meets the eye.
THE FLIP SIDE
Tough or soft. Serious or fun. Back flips or kick flips. Why choose? We’re our brightest selves when we embrace all sides.
Because numbers are just that: numbers.
ACTING MY AGE
We can make every excuse to roll up our yoga mats and declare ourselves too old to keep going. But when you ignore all the numbers and just keep doing what you love, you’ll find yourself reaching higher and further than you ever thought possible.
‘Tis the season for giving. And getting. And, sometimes, even being a little naughty.
They might be silly, outrageous or borderline scary, but when you have your crew, somehow the worst ideas are the ones that make the most sense.
Because the only person
you need to impress
THE BACK ROW
We all know it’s not about what spot you choose in class, but about choosing to show up—that’s the most impressive move you can make.
Because it teaches you
Your best friend is trying to tell you something. See how good it feels to let go of the reigns and open yourself to whatever comes your way.
Because there really is strength in surrendering.
It’s not easy to keep a straight face, or a strong core, when your daughter is climbing all over you. Which is why it’s good to embrace those moments and see what it really means to go with the flow.
Because we can’t
on our own.
So what if your accomplishment took some extra help and muscle? We all get by with a little lift from our friends.
Because no one
MY CURVE BALL
Grab an unsuspecting friend, head outside and loosen up your arm. It’s time to tune into your inner 10-year-old and let the fun fly.
Because 12 takes
is way better
It takes dedication and determination to create something beautiful. And if you’re lucky, you do it before you wear yourself out.
they turn your world
We can all get stuck in routines and cling to our own ways and habits. But new worlds open up when we flip the script and look at things in new ways.
you have to check out
to avoid burnout.
Silence all the noise and distractions. Take a break and take it all in. With so many places to be during the holidays, first find a place to just “be.”
There is power in exercising gratitude and sharing it with the world. Need some inspiration? See how our Athleta Ambassadors share their gratitude.
And then tell us: what are you grateful for? Take a photo, share it using #GratefulFor and start a chain reaction of positivity.
