ICKB Girls
ICKB GIRLS are a team of four women dedicated to the art of kettlebell lifting and the spirit of competition. They come from various backgrounds and ages, united in their passion for the sport. All have full-time lives outside of kettlebell training and competition, yet they continue to sacrifice their limited free time to practice and advance as a team. As a result, their hard work has propelled them to levels they never dreamed possible.
MAYACHELA (MAYA) GARCIA is an accomplished Kettlebell Sport athlete, the co-founder of Ice Chamber, a successful athletic training company in the San Francisco Bay Area, and mother to her nearly three year old son, Mateo. She is a 6x Gold medalist, Candidate for Master of Sport in both the Long Cycle and Biathlon, and is the 1st American to win an Overall Best Lifter award in the International Union of Kettlebell Lifting (IUKL). Maya is also the Captain of the Ice Chamber Kettlebell Team, the first all female competition team in the world.
Maya is a graduate from U.C. Berkeley’s Department of Sociology. Her credentials include: Master Trainer for the World Kettlebell Club (WKC); Certified Kettlebell Lifting Coach, American Kettlebell Club (AKC); Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and Certified Personal Trainer (NSCA-CPT), National Strength and Conditioning Association; Certified Club Coach, USA Weightlifting; Movement Dynamics Teacher (CKT-FMD) and Postpartum Fitness Adviser to the International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation.
JESSICA DIBIASE became the first American Female Master of Sport in the Long Cycle and one of the first women in the world to compete in the Biathlon with the 20kg kettlebell in 2009. Jessica is a WKC ranked Kettlebell Lifting Coach with the American Kettlebell Club in addition to her extensive experience as a group fitness and certified SPIN instructor.
Jessica holds a Masters Degree in Organizational Communication and draws from her background as a competitive triathlete and former gymnast to build the mental fortitude required for Kettlebell Sport. When not competing, she can be found managing personal training, group exercise, and operations at the Ice Chamber.

SURYA VOINAR-FOWLER won the Best Lifter Award at the 2009 World Kettlebell Lifting Championships in the 20kg division, an impressive jump from her first competition in 2008 when she started with a 12kg kettlebell. Surya is a Candidate for Master of Sport in the Long Cycle and is currently the best female Long Cycle athlete in the country according to competition scores collected in 2009. She is also a World Kettlebell Club Fitness Trainer and an AKC Certified Kettlebell Lifting Coach in addition to her full-time work as the Director of a preschool.
As a busy professional, wife, and mother of two children, Jake age 9, and Lily age 5, Surya continues to draw emotional wellness and positive physical energy from her participation in group fitness at the Ice Chamber and as an active Kettlebell Sport competitor.
SARA NELSON Sara Nelson is a 5x Kettlebell Sport Champion and one of the best 60kg lifters in the country. Sara is ranked Candidate for Master of Sport in both the Long Cycle and Biathlon and is also an accomplished Certified Kettlebell Lifting Coach under the American Kettlebell Club (AKC), World Kettlebell Club (WKC) as well as the International Kettlebell and Fitness Federation. In 2009, Sara earned gold medals in the Biathlon at the Arnold Sports Festival, the World Kettlebell Lifting Championships in Chicago as well as the Long Cycle Invitational in Zagreb, Croatia using a 20kg kettlebell.
When not competing, Sara enjoys teaching group fitness at the Ice Chamber, cooking, and running middle distance races.
