Holly Brooks IS An Olympian

Since declaring “I Want To Be An Olympian” Holly Brooks has wowed us with her determination. But after winning the SuperTour races and ranking high in the US Nationals, she was not one of the initial selections for Team USA. Still, hope remained as the system for allocating spots on the Olympic team allowed for the re-allocation of unused slots from other countries, and this week Holly learned she had been awarded a slot on the 2010 Nordic team…
“I actually missed the call,” Brooks said. “I was in the bathroom bushing my teeth — it was a little earlier than most people call me, so the thought crossed my mind that maybe it was the U.S. Ski Team. I went out and looked at the missed call and it was the area code of Park City (Utah).
“I walked over and sat down on the couch and was like, ‘OK, this is either going to really good or really bad.’”
It was the former: Holly Brooks is an Olympian.
