Kc, I love your goal. Nature has such a way of instilling tranquility. Maybe in the spring you can get your kids outside for yoga!

My goal: Over the years I've gotten pretty good at eliminating what isn't serving my life. As I transition through life's challenges and realize that time is tick-ticking, it's a huge motivator to get focused. Not always easy, but yoga has helped me learn to get through the difficulty with greater ease. Amazing what you can endure by cultivating breath awareness.

My goal is not so much about letting go, except when it comes to letting go of what's holding me back from deepening my yoga practice. Mostly that comes down to prioritizing my mind/body/spirit health. I recently signed on at a studio that offers a huge range of classes. I'm excited about trying them all and finding what resonates. In deepening my practice, I want to work on back bends (my nemesis -- got any advice?). Last year I focused on handstands, and kept a Yoga Journal photo on my fridge to help me visualize the goal. It worked! Granted, I'm still against the wall, but getting up there was a huge tipping point (pun intended). :)

Thank you Colleen and Helen for sharing your insight and expertise!

Early this evening I took a walk in the woods with my devoted & loving dog Slick. Right away I noticed the crisp air with a bit of chill. It didn't bother me much , it was quite refreshing. The larch trees are starting to turn, as are all the grasses and bushes. As we walked I noticed how much more of peace I am. Just Slick and I in the woods. The ground was covered in pine needles. I started to ponder the thought of actually trying to teach this quiet, peaceful state of being in such a busy, hurried & techno world to my children. Teaching the importance of quiet, reflection & breath. I constantly tell my 6 year old little girl to breath when she gets stressed. So my goal this fall is drag all precious 4 kids to the living room for yoga. I may not get all the peace I am used to when I practice myself. But I think this is such a valuable lesson to teach . I may be rewarded in ways I may have never imagined.
