Ride of the Century
by Team Athleta • Jul 17th, 2009 • Category: Cycling
Please join us in congratulating chi author Kathleen Burke Jensen on finishing her first century ride and Team Fat Cyclist for earning their place at the front of the starting line (with a police escort for the first 9 miles!) as the top fundraising team.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to share Kathleen’s journey leading up to the race and support the undertaking by teaming her with the amazing coach Sage. If you can’t wait for part 4 wrapping-up their collaboration, head over to Kathleen’s blog for her race report Cycling a Century and Living Strong »

I seriously doubt I would have finished if it wasn’t for Sage’s coaching…I cannot thank Athleta enough for being such a wonderful supporter of women athletes!

Elden’s (‘fatty’ from Fat Cyclist) wife, Susan, is not doing so great today. Trying to take the edge of pain off with morphine. Sad times…

Susan is in really bad shape and Fatty’s posts are truly heartbreaking.

Any suggestions on how to train for a metric century in the mountains (where I live). It is cold and snowing now – so in doors on trainer until I can get outside. The Ride is April 24th. What should I start doing?
DO you know if cross training is useful for this goal? I just started jogging about 2 miles 3x a week, plus KB 3x/week.
Thanks,
Astra
