New Life

A year ago I never would have believed that my life could ever be so wonderful. I moved to Anchorage, Alaska from Petaluma, California (home of Athleta!) and started a whole new life. I was very overweight, depressed and in a nowhere job. Now I live in a wonderful place, love my job, have great new friends, and have lost over 50 pounds!
I have been trying to keep my weight loss a secret so that when I come back to California for a holiday visit I could surprise my friends. However, this back-fired when one of my friends (who works for Athleta) sent me a fabulous new jacket to keep me warm for the winter. The good news is that even though the jacket is a 2X, and I am now a size 12, it still fits and looks fabulous! I have taken to calling it ‘The Sisterhood of the Traveling Jacket’ because it fits and looks great on everyone, including my best friend Javier. The bad news is… well, there is no bad news!!
Thank you Jill, thank you Athleta!

You are great Jean Marie! That’s really inspiratonal! Sometimes in low times it’s hard to imagine that everything can be different. I love hearing things that remind one that “the lowest ebb is the turning of the tide.” 365 days has nothing on you! Congratulations!

Wow, Jean Marie! Congrats! to you over your amazing accomplishment around a new life change.
I, too, am curious to hear how you instrumented this change. Really, losing over 50 pounds is quite a feat to share. I’ve heard Alaska is simply gorgeous.
P.S. The Athleta jacket certainly looks ‘cozy and warm’…and I especially like the two-tone color combo on the cuff, sleeve and hood. :)
