We’re a company that believes in empowering women, and that belief starts at the core of Team Athleta. On July 3rd six ladies hit a milestone in their lives by doing something they never thought they’d do — completing their first ever triathlon.
Each year Penny (also our ringleader for The Relay) organizes the Athleta Triathlon, a fun event that starts with a swim at the local pool, then cycling across town for the run at Shollenberger Park just outside our Petaluma office. In addition to our first-time triathletes, the event was attended by Little Red Riding Hood (aka Erin), the merchandise relay team of Debbie P (swim), Ellen (bike) and Amy (run), our resident Boston Marathoner, the Customer Service Lei-dies, and many more. Penny does a great job getting us ready and feeling confident, even for the first-timers. I always have a blast doing this event: all the positive energy, it’s a fun break from the office, and it’s a great team-builder! Some of this year’s highlights:
>> biking along with the “Back of the Pack” crew and laughing at their jokes
>> Debbie P. driving in her car along side of us biking and cheering us on
>> Tracy’s advice to “just keep swimming”
