Will Work for Camel Ride

Greetings from Thailand where I’m stopping to study meditation. After 6 years of practicing corporate law, at 35 I realized there was more to life than what I had previously been doing. I left my job, bought some Athleta favorites (2 pairs of Dipper Pants, 1 pair of Steep Ravine Pants, 4 Bra Cup Camis, and 3 Expedition Shirts) and proceeded to wear them for the next 3 months (and counting!!!) as I complete my first around-the-world trip.

I’ve been HARD on these babies, meaning I’ve washed them in global sinks around the world, night after night. They’ve weathered camel back trekking in the Sahara in Morocco, exploring ancient rock caves in Turkey, cruising the Nile in Egypt and another sandy ride out to marvelous Siwa, Egypt. I’ve worn them exploring Petra in Jordan, and while tiger sight-seeing and visiting the Taj Mahal in India. In Bhutan I wore Athleta outfits while climbing mountains to sacred monasteries and flying on the back of a ‘moto’ to explore the temples of Angkor Wat. I nearly freaked out fellow traveler and Athleta fan Sally from Long Beach when I spied her in the Bangkok airport wearing the identical Dipper Pants I had on! After I stalked her from the airplane to the luggage claim area (and promised her I wasn’t crazy) I snapped a picture of us. The best thing is that she’s a foot taller than me and we are both wearing our khaki Dipper Pants and raving about them (thank goodness for your petite sizes and your tall sizes).

I’m no beautiful Athleta model, but all the same I wanted you to know real people are out there living life to the fullest… and your clothes make it easier to do it! After Thailand and some other Southeast Asian countries, I am off to Bali and then hopefully to car camp in New Zealand. May the story continue!
