Layering Up: Tips from a Stylist
One minute you’re warm, the next you’re cold. We know this struggle all too well! So, we tapped one of our favorite stylists, who picked out a few of her favorite winter pieces and showed us how to layer up and layer down for both the cooler and warmer days of the season.
Fall is upon us…
It’s my favorite season because I love being able to wear cozy layers. This fall, however, seems to have a mind of its own out here in California. From the traditional, rainy, 63 degree day to a sudden sunny, endless summer, 93 degree type day, I can’t keep up! It is definitely keeping me on my toes.
I have focused on three of my favorite Athleta pieces for fall and decided to style versions of outfits for both the cooler and warmer days this temperamental season throws at me!
The Powerlift Tight
IN WARMER WEATHER
Even when I am trying to stay cool, I like to layer. The Inversion Bra gives some unique styling detail underneath my Lake Tank with its halter type straps.
IN COOLER WEATHER
On those colder days, I add my Downabout Jacket and a beanie to stay warm. I love the richness of the jackets gold zippers and ‘Wild Raisin’ color.
The Merino Lodge Sweater
IN WARMER WEATHER
Pairing the Merino Lodge sweater with the Moto Ponte skirt is the perfect warm weather fall combo. I like my sweater a little oversized for a more comfy/casual feel.
IN COOLER WEATHER
Throw on some pants, like the The Wander Skinny Pant, and add the Ruana Wrap for warm layering while hitting the open air markets.
This weather may be complicated, but your outfits don’t have to be!
The Rendezvous Dress
IN WARMER WEATHER
Keeping it simple is always a good rule of thumb. The Rendezvous Dress, in charcoal, and paired with sneakers, is the ultimate chic athleisure look. Great for meeting friends and popping into an art gallery to two.
IN COOLER WEATHER
To stay true to the rule of simplicity, go tonal. Adding the Tiburon Turtleneck, in the matching color, creates an easy go-to look when the day goes from warm to cold. Turtlenecks are the ultimate fall must haves and great to layer with!
It doesn’t matter if the weather is warm or cool, I’ve got you covered with my three favorite Athleta must haves this fall!
