5 On-the-Go Healthy Tips for Busy Moms

Here at Athleta, many of us are mothers. We’re moms of newborns, moms of toddlers, of grade-school kids and of kids in college. We’re a company of mustlers (mom-hustlers 😉 ) and we know how hard it can be at times. To welcome back-to-school season we caught up with Shannon Monson, a mom of 2 and the brains and beauty behind Nutrition Simply, to learn how she stays healthy and feeling great.

I’ll be honest with you…

I thought the art of eating with just one hand was a skill I’d only need to master during the first year of motherhood. Call it first-time mom naivety or just pure cluelessness–but I was pretty confident that it couldn’t possibly get any more difficult than awkwardly juggling a newborn in one arm, and trying to make something edible with the other.

Turns out, mothers everywhere call this experience I’m describing “eating” and they do it approximately 3 to 5 times a day for a decade or so (wink, wink). So, if you, like me, are constantly looking for quick + easy food ideas that you can (1) eat with one hand while simultaneously juggling all the things in the other and (2) requires little-to-no time, effort or energy during your already busy day, then good news!
