Sweat Series Episode V [6 Minute Dancer Abs]
Dance to your core strength…
Wondering what to do when your sanity needs a sweat sesh, but making it to the studio isn’t happening? Sweat Series is here to help! We partnered with Well+Good and asked the industry’s hottest instructors and fit-stagrammers to give us their quickest and most challenging do-anywhere workouts. So, get pumped (on your own schedule)!
This latest workout has us dancing our way to the abs of our dreams. Lead by NYC DanceBody trainer, Katia Pryce, you’ll get moving with an ab-activating warm-up and heartrate-rocketing routine, in six minutes flat.
“Every other fitness professional does exercises that target the abs, but they never entirely isolate them like a dancer does—which is why a dancer’s abs are leaner and longer than most others.”
We’re loving this approach to ab sculpting. Moving with the music, hitting the beat, engaging all the right muscles at once, without even thinking about it.
Pryce’s DanceBody workout precisely targets those underutilized, forgotten muscles that dancers can access effortlessly. While the workout itself is broken into two parts—the first half is low-impact and the second half high-impact, to ramp up your heart rate for maximum burn—the entire sequence is designed to give you the strong and active core that only dancing can create.
