After years of being an athlete and a personal trainer—I have my post-workout beauty routine down to a quick science. As a nutritionist, I know that what you put on your body matters just as much as what you put in it.
This simple five-minute routine is designed to leave you glowing and fresh so you can feel good about what you’re putting on your body!
Step 1: No-Shampoo-Needed Miracle Powder
My favorite hair powder is Lulu Organics Lavender & Clary Sage Hair Powder. It smells like a field of lavender and absorbs moisture so well. I use it almost every day, only washing my hair about once a week. It not only makes life easier, but it’s also better for your hair and scalp, protecting your hair from daily exposure to chemicals that can be found in traditional shampoos and conditioners. This is a definite staple for anyone who goes straight from their fitness class to work—no one will ever know that you’ve been sweating all morning!
Step 2: Quickie Facial Cleanse
One of the benefits of having two children under the age of two is always have baby wipes on hand. Honest Baby Wipes are made of the softest, most luscious cloth, have no chemicals or parabens, and are infused with ingredients like pomegranate and cucumber. I use them for everything, including a quick facial cleansing wipe after a workout. You don’t need a baby to buy them—I promise, you’ll love ‘em.
Step 3: A Touch of Coverage
I don’t wear a lot of makeup, but I like to do a quick all-over sweep of some tinted mineral veil for basic coverage and a bit of definition on my cheeks. I like how light the mineral veil is—it feels really natural and has been really great for my sensitive skin. I’m loving Bare Minerals Mineral Veil for this one.
Step 4: Natural Lashes
If I never wore any makeup at all, I’d still use an eyelash curler. In another life I’m coming back with long, dark, thick luscious lashes—until then, I’ll be over here with my lash curler on the daily. A quick curl is all it takes to really make my eyes pop.
Step 5: A Tinted Lip
I have a new(ish) obsession with bright cheery lipsticks. It’s amazing how fast a good lip color takes you from “I just came from the gym” to “I’m ready for a night out.” FACE Stockholm Chili Flake has been a favorite color on rotation lately. It’s an A++ in my book. (Though it is not organic, the ingredient list is high-quality and natural.)
Step 6: A Little Essential Oil Spritz
I’ve always had negative skin reactions to traditional perfumes, so recently I’ve been spritzing with a little homemade essential oil mixture. My favorites are doTERRA Wild Orange and Peppermint. The combo smells amazing and is also invigorating and energizing. Dilute a few drops of each in a spray bottle with water and do a quick body spritz before you head out the door. Voila! You’re done.
What are your favorite natural products? I’m always on the look-out for new ones to try. I’d love to hear your favorites!
