Forgive Yourself Daily

February 1, 2014

Make this your Healthiest Year Ever with the help of spiritual guru, best-selling author, and Kundalini teacher, Gabrielle Bernstein

Gabrielle BernsteinOf the millions of thoughts running through our minds at any given moment, many of them are the opposite of loving, points out Bernstein, who’s spoken and written about self-love in her three best-selling books.

Let’s interrupt the internal mean-girl voice this month (it’s Valentine’s Day, after all). Here’s how Bernstein recommends silencing your inner critic, not just now, but for the rest of your life:

In a quiet moment, go through the list of ways you attack yourself. Next to each attack write: I forgive this and I release this. Setting the intention to forgive yourself sets the practice in motion.

I do this practice whenever I detour into fear-based thoughts or actions. For instance, if I catch myself judging someone or myself I’ll immediately say, “I forgive this and I release this.” Instantly I feel released from the attack thought and I center back into a place of peace.

Whenever you notice self-attack set in, simply say, “I forgive myself and I release this thought.” Use this practice whenever you need it to maintain a healthy relationship with yourself.

There are also self-forgiveness meditations available on the May Cause Miracles Meditation album.

I endeavour to live my life punching fear in the face but lately it’s been a real challenge-thanks for sharing this, looking forward to trying it out!

Like the challenge, I fear my ideas today won’t be realized, it’s quite insane that is when I’m connected to the divine universe of abundance. Thanks Gabby!
